Starlink Internet changes everything for provincial island life here in the Philippines. Living on Siargao, internet has been pretty rubbish for the last 3 years. We have no fiber internet and no post paid options here, so this Starlink satellite internet solution will be a great addition to the island life.

Our names are Jmayel, Sacha & Story. We traveled to the Philippines Siargao island and fell in love with island life, now we want to make that life more permanent.
Follow us on this journey :-)

Hey guys, we forgot to include the shoutout today! Sorry about that, we got excited to review the Starlink and got busy with our wedding anniversary and totally forgot. We'll do 2 shoutouts in the next vlog.

That end note made sense. The Philippines is the favorite place for typhoons, so if ever the domestic telco is down, you will still have communication from the outside.

Starlink also will change the game in ocean going vessels. Some shipping companies already installing this for their fleets.

Philippine telecom companies have room for improvement in their digital services. While other countries are moving towards 6G, the Philippines is still working on improving its digital competitiveness. According to the Digital Competitiveness ranking, the Philippines is currently ranked 58 out of 64 countries. Take a hint PLDT, Globe, and SMART!

Living so close to the ocean, I would protect the connector to the dish very well. You can use silicone and fill the void just below the connector, so you will avoid salt and moisture there. Should be possible to remove later if needed. It has been problems with those connectors in Norway along the coast where I live.

3:12 It is amazing to hear change in our country. To know that it is possible.
Most of the time I hear from the news, friends, and relatives about they have to do things that consumes so much time here in the Philippines. As a student, it inspires me to do well so that I could somehow contribute to this change - to improve our country.

i got one a few months ago and it litteraly changed my life, i no longer have to move back to the city for my job. also the pressence of starlink here in the country would probably make both globe amd smart try a little harder with their services.

Starlink are boosting the internet landscape in the Philippines. Thank you for the DIY installation, it is very helpful. God bless the Philippines and to your family as well. 😀

I think it's a great idea. I have been thinking about Starlink since I started watching your vlog three years ago. The monthly cost of 2700 PHP comes out to roughly $54 bucks. That is a good affordable price for high speed internet. I am so happy for you guys. Now all you need is a device that captures fresh water from the air. It would not be surprising that in another 2 to 3 years you'll be unboxing that device.

Great upgrade! Nice way to invest. I know when we were in the PH in remote areas, it was so slow.
Love the solar panels, too! Happy to see you and the family doing well ❤

I also ordered mine and also in an island here in Sibay Caluya, Antique. Bought a solar power for the house, a laptop, and now Starlink. I'm sick of going down to the beach and going home uphill everyday just to get mobile signal and it's slow! 100kbps mobile signal and for me it's expensive and tiring. This will change everything for me!

Starlink is a Game Changer best decision to let Starlink invest in the Philippines

Definitely worth it, especially if you're in a remote location. It's great when things actually work well! You will have to let us know how long it takes to upload now with it, and how long it took before. Sad you missed a shout out 😢❤

Just installed one in rural Oklahoma. Even with what I thought might be too many trees in the way, Starlink is working amazingly well. Came up in a couple minutes after install and initial turn on. 160mbps with no interruptions. I was concerned about intermittent connection due to the trees but has been very solid. Very highly recommend.

Starlink internet changes a lot of things in a lot of places. It certainly demolish the disadvantages made on purpose by greedy governments and satellite corporations

9:54 Hold on, you do not need to buy the ethernet adapter. You can, with the correct router, setup a Wi-Fi extender. I have a HIKvision WR12C which has a WISP operation mode. Very easy to setup and we have 10 devices connected to the WR12C. The WR12C let's me setup restricted access, parental control and guest network.

I so appreciate your Starlink review! I am going to be moving to the Philippines late next year and will be building a small home completely off grid as I have experienced the pitfalls of Philippine grids. Can't wait to get started! Thanks again!

Nice, I recommend Starlink to my cousin who lives in Luzon. I hope she has gotten it because they've been complaining about Smart & Globe always going down.

buy voltage regulator or UPS to protect your starlink modem from lightning and power fluctuation in siargao.
