I think this song is about a cult leader who killed himself to complete some really weird ritual, hence all the weird shit happening. And the date on the back of the painting is when he would supposedly sacrifice himself to the eldritch entity or higher being the cult worships. It also explains why his children are missing and why there are statues of them. Their deaths (assuming they're dead) were a part of said ritual after which the cult built statues of them to appease whatever being this cult worships.
