I don't agree with the guys comment about Blacks having to 'earn' respect from Whites. However, I've just got back from 6 months in Malaysia and their societal values are far stronger than the British. People there abide by a moral code, whereas in large parts of this country public disorder, mass drunkenness, and antisocial behaviour is out of control.
