A year ago, one of the deadliest wildfires in modern American history tore through the Hawaiian island of Maui. For several days, the fires damaged and destroyed thousands of buildings and homes in the historic downtown area of Lahaina and forced people to evacuate. Caleb Hopkins, a restauranteur in Hawai'i, joins CBS News to reflect on the past year.

That was a very beautiful city. If you have tourists come back, this financial boost can help so much as you move forward, rebuilding your very beautiful city. The people there are those who built it before, so you same people can surely build it again.

I feel scared that if we as the human race does not join together to fight climate change in all nations by using more clean energy, sad events like this wildfire will spread across the globe. I stand with you, Hawaii. 💚🤍💚 #CleanEnergy
