truly entertaining channel + educational.

I'm not sure if those bubbles on the side of the container are cavitation. It's likely similar, but I think it's more likely that they are just pre-existing bubbles that were on the side of the container expanding during the low pressure moments.

Anni is so cool, her style always tells me that she does not give a flying fuck what people think about her, and does whatever the hell she wants! :)

I have another suggestion. Pour liquid nitrogen on a prince Rupert drop. It would be interesting to see if the thermal shock is enough to smash it.

I think the frequency of the cavitation oscillation in the bigger cylinder is higher because it is shorter. The round walls do not reflect the shock wave. Instead the shock wave bounces between the flat bottom and top of the cylinder. Shorter cylinder = higher frequency. I'd assume the shock waves moves at the speed of sound in the medium (i.e. water). This is probably also why the glass broke. The shock wave hitting the bottom of the glass is essentially the same if someone had dropped it flat on some concrete.

Maybe you could try breaking the glass drops inside high-Temperature water. The boiling pressure should be higher, so the bubble generation should last longer.

Explode St. Rupert's drops in non-newtownian fluid. I know you wouldn't see the explosion like in water, but how would it contain the shockwave?

New idea: Prince Rupert drop chain. The tail of one drop should be taped to the ball part of another. Make a chain like that with like 10 drops. Maybe the 1st will explode the 2nd and so on and make a nice domino effect explosion :D

try using a thicker liquid, like oil or honey.

This is one of the best videos you two have made, in my opinion 👍 Absolutely beautiful to watch.
And today I have some sort of man-flu or virus so I'm feeling terrible, but this cheered me up some. GG

I love it! But for the small glass, we all know when you put the end of the drop touching the glass it will break, it wasn’t because the glass was smaller.

Awesome effects! And, +Anni Vuohensilta I love your dress. Very cute! ♥ It looks there was more of the print on the back, but I can't tell.

Anni needs to hold a glass of water at the end of every BTP video from now on. One day, you don't know when, but one day, she's gonna throw it on Lauri.

This is the best Prince Rupert's drop video I've seen!

Try putting a drop in instant freeze ice. Put a bottle of water in the freezer with the cap on tight for about 1 1/2 to 2 hours. Make sure not to disturb it. If you did it right the water should still be liquid when you remove it from the freezer but turn to ice the instant the cap is removed and the water moved. I wonder if the pressure from the ice formation would be enough to make the drop pop.

Did anybody else notice they use the same music as Kerbal Space Program?
