what i dont understand is: when all these professionals in the industry have such high standards when it comes to scripts, then why is there so much bad television and movies?

He is so profoundly humble.
This is a diamond quality interview! Thank you!

Focus on exposure, not the money. Remember, you're in this for the long haul . Perfect your craft.

I really liked his advice on paying studio script readers for their input and evaluations prior to submission. If you can walk away from any article or publication slightly wiser, well, it time was well spent.
Thank you for posting.

In defense of Corey Mandell, just because you have one bad script doesn't mean you're a bad screenwriter. There isn't anyone who creates masterpieces every time. I don't know everything about Mr. Mandell's works, but he's in the industry. He's openly giving advice and trying to help others. You know who also won a Razzie? Halle Berry for Catwoman. But she also acted in Monster's Ball. No one is perfect.

I was waiting for the part where he talks about how much is a script, I'm still waiting

I think this is an excellent lesson, don't show mediocre work, get coverage, re-write, learn! I did a course run by Corey and it changed the way i think, plan, process and most important - write with clarity! I have won 8 Awards(can verify) in the US so far. I love this channel.

"Did I say what my professor, who represented Steven S(pielberg) - or you know, taught Steven S(pielberg) snivel, anyway, you know." The subtext here is hilarious.

Wow... . With the quality apparently being so "high" it's bizarre why there are so many horrible movies coming out.

I think by the title of the video, people were expecting an answer to the question, but Corey was actually explaining the story behind the question, not the answer to it.

Listen to this if you want to win Razzies.
Tarantino didn't write "Reservoir Dogs" so he could impress three 21 year old interns for coverage. He wrote it because that's the kind of movie he likes to watch. And that's what you need to know to write a good script.

Such great advise. I love his distinction between growth and fixed mindset. You can tell it took him a long time to learn it and he's just giving the advice away which is awesome for us :p

So, what was left off is where you find these readers.  The advice is priceless. He is very good.

This guy!!!! I love this guy. He never disappoints. Whenever I listen to him, I feel like I got the secret to succeeding in the movie industry. Even though I’m a French guy living in France and even though I pursue a career in acting, not screenwriting.

I want to know more about this manager. He is basically responsible for this guy's success but he still describes him as "not a good person" 😂
Perhaps he should write a script about him.

I love you the way Mr. Corey exposes his weaknesses.

I would like to see a companion video that shows the writing "errors" in his script and the resulting fixes - a pre and post comparison of the srcipt.

Excellent! How can I find readers at large studios to give me coverage for cash?
