I introduce the transformations you can apply to the six trigonomtric functions. I then go over two basic examples of graphing sine with using t-tables. Part 2 will be two more examples of graphing sine & cosine with more transformations using a t-table.

You just saved my life. I wish you were my professor. You have no idea how much I would like to thank you. Thank you for teaching.

You are absolutely correct that you will start your t-table at 0 and count by 1/2. Don't forget that pi is in your equation, so when you plug in...say 3/2 for x you will finding 1/2sin(3pi/2) which will give you a y value of -1/2. I don't know why your answer key has 2pi and 4pi on the number line unless they use the same standard x-axis for all the graphs so you can see the effects of the phase shift easier.

Selena, a comment can never be too long when it is full of praises like yours! Most teachers work hard to do the best job we can and it's always nice to hear when a student like yourself realizes our efforts. This is one of my early videos when I had a 15 min time limit. My newer ones are longer but I try to break them out into chapters so you can just watch what you need (and there's always the FF button). Do what you can to "Tell the World" about my channel and help me groW! THANK YOU:)

I LOVE to hear those comments...but remember, "it takes two"...if you had not taken the initiative to get outside help in the first place...you may not have found my channel...and YOU were the one that made that A happen, with a little help from me:)...I'll be happy to take that much credit. Don't keep my channel a secret...please share with your friends and help me grow!...thanks.

What do you mean?..you do have me as a teacher...anytime of the day or night!!!...and thanks for subscribing too! Great to hear that you didn't just "give up" on your education. You were motivated enough to seek out the additional help you needed in order to "get the grade" and that my friend, is very commendable!!! Keep the positive, "push through it" attitude about life, and you will go far. Keep watching and learning, you can NEVER have TOO MUCH knowledge:))

Your example would be a little tricky but could be done with my method...make the leading coefficient 1/10. I am teaching 4 subjects at this time with no planning period. So, I agree I have a couple of holes in my trig videos I am currently focused on doing Geometry videos for my new class that I am teaching this year. I wish I could make these videos faster:/ I do want to eventually work into the harder classes. It will not be until the end of this school year though.

I am sorry. I am teaching calculus live for the first time next school year so I am focusing just on preparing for that class...and doing a couple of short maintence videos to fix minor errors needed in my existing videos. It is fantastic that you prepare before your classes. I wish more of my students did that.

sin(pi) is = 0, if you do not get this answer your calculator is probably in degree mode. You should also be doing these problems without the use of a calculator to practice your fraction skills and your memorization of the unit circle. Thank you for watching:)

You may want to watch my videos about setting up the unit circle. Cosine(theta)=x/r and Sine(theta)=y/r, so on the unit circle where r is held at a constant value of 1 the x coordinate is cosine and the y coordinate is the sine. I hope this answers your question and thank you for watching:)
