Shopping is made easy, with e-commerce. Watch to learn what e-commerce is and how it works.

E-commerce, or electronic commerce, is the buying and selling of goods and services over an electronic network, primarily the internet. These transactions range from business-to-business (B2B), business-to-consumer (B2C), consumer-to-consumer, or consumer-to-business.

E-commerce rose to popularity in the 1990s with sites like Amazon and eBay. All types of consumer goods are available online from clothes to electronics to household items. But for everything you buy online as a consumer, B2B transactions actually dwarf B2C in terms of raw volume.

What were your first experiences with e-commerce? Was it a book from Amazon? An eBay auction? Or something business related? Let us know in the comments and remember to give this video a like.

Great points about b2b and b2c e-commerce.

The biggest difference is the complexity in b2b, compared to b2c. This occurs in multiple ways, but great examples of the complexity of B2B e-commerce are topics like b2b customer-specific pricing, trade agreements, and bulk order discounts. B2C customer usually has a much more simple way of using e-commerce platforms.
