Making friends is hard lol

I had a friend in college who was always info dumping very detailed information about volcanoes and the highest mountains and elevation around the world and I always to took the time to listen and make him feel heard, I think he was autistic. I loved that he could trust me to listen without judgement 💕 I have adhd so I appreciate when someone can listen and show excitement about the weird things I say or do .

I know a lot of people that hate when others infodump, but as an introvert, i love it. I have a really hard time talking to people so when they are able to talk about topics it makes it so much easier for me to do so as well

Not gonna lie, as someone who loves learning and is a good listener I love when people start info dumping. Especially when it’s something they’re passionate about…their eyes start to sparkle and they’re buzzing with excitement. It’s so wholesome, makes me smile every time 🥹

The stickers thing actually work, but instead of broad questions ("what ALL of your stickers mean?") it's better to chose one that calls out to you and ask specifics ("I love this sticker, what is that about?").

Once I was waiting for the train and a guy saw my eco bag with the print from the movie Frankenstein and he asked me if I was into old horror movies. We talked everyday from there. If people don't reciprocate, it's not your fault, perhaps they are shitty or are having a shitty day.

Honestly people who info dump on me about random stuff that I've complimented them on really alleviate my social anxiety because they have just given me SO MUCH information to work with to have a proper conversation. Bless you for this. 🙏

tip for masking: just compliment whatever is mildly interesting about them, and/or ask them for help with random things occasionally (ex: i love ur hair, how do u make it look so soft?) the best part is that it’s not even rly masking which makes it so easy lol
