I wish I had a close friend that would appreciate, the elegance of a proper tea party! Most of my friends, don’t garden or bake! Thank you for giving us a glimpse of elegance, with such lovely recipes.

Large size Victoria sandwich cakes, scones, and other items presented for British tea. A new interpretation of traditional tea, the food looks delicious.

when cutting tea sandwiches, freeze the bread for 15-30 min or until firm enough to cut without squishing.

In the summer, when I was a little girl, I would spend a week or two with my grandmother. Every day, we would have afternoon tea, with all the fanciness- including her fine China. Loved thlose special times with her! Carried on the same tradition with my oldest 3 grandchildren.

For my 50th birthday I invited my family 18 people to an afternoon party:
I made 4 types of sandwiches included homemade coronation chicken.
Scones with home made clotted cream, and another type of roll/bun.
Mini muffins, battenberg, a carrot cake
7 different types of cookies.
We also had champagne but most drank coffee or chocolate milk but not tea although I just bought 2 big bags and also got 2 bags as a present. Had to give it away.
Everyone's favourite was the coronation chicken. I found an almost original recipe online.
I hade 3 etageres (not sure of the English word - but the serving towers) made for the occasion. That was one expensive birthday. Did the baking myself.

As an American (U.S.) who lived in the U.K. during the 1970s, I would say the practice of warming the teapot (rinsing it with hot water) comes from the fact the British homes were cold. When I lived there very few homes had central heating. There was a heater in the fireplace and one feed the meter with shillings! I saved them in a jar next to my bed.

Just found your videos and love that I can see your recipes on the notes section, thank you for doing that. Tea Time is very special to me. I appreciate your ideas.
During a very stressful time, I had "Royal Tea Time" every day at @4:00 pm. I bought a pretty cup and saucer and dessert plates and some paper lace, specialty teas, and desserts and added a sandwich in small slices. I had an hour of elegance filled peace while traveling through beautiful places via UTube. Eventually this reduced my anxiety. You don' have to pop drugs every time your stress levels rise. You can distract yourself with moments of beauty and tea time. 🙂
