I think, you may be mistaken about origins of wine. Earliest evidence of wine making was discovered in the mountainous regions of northern Iran circa 6000 BC. Subsequent to the demise of the various Persian/Iranian empires, the Persian language was still dominate for hundreds of years. Many Sanskrit and Greek words are actually of Persian origin.
