I suffer from anxiety that manifests in what I now realize is an extremely chokingly tight larynx. Just watching your larynx move made me realize how to control it. Thank you.

It's really effective. I've been doing all the exercises and my singing voice improved. There really is a room for improvement! :)

I was wondering why as I got older my singing got worse. Now after watching a bunch of your videos... I'm realizing that its it's probably because I'm tense now compared to when I was younger and less stressed 😅 also you have helped me find out that I can use these tips to relax my neck and prevent tension headaches.

I’ve always had this kind of tone to my voice. But thank you because I was not aware of the importance of controlling it to increase the quality of the song

I was really confused about this thing on my throat that moved up and down when I sang. I showed my mom that I could move it up and down and she was also very confused about what it was. Turns out it was the lyranx :)

Isn't this the open throat thing? I have taken advice from everyone and it has helped. This is actually a really good lesson to learn. I knew how to do this I ended up here mostly trying to take tension out of the body, but listened to refresh.

If you push it a bit more lower it will feel like the larynx drops so low that it feels like it folds on top of itself. When that happens ...welcome to whistle notes. You have to push one of the muscles on top of it so it makes the opening small enough to whistle. Fun little thing to do.

When I started I was a C2 to around a F4 now I am able to go from a C2 to a E7 (with whistle notes) a B6 without them. I sing a lot of MUSE so obviously I had to be able to hit highs and lows to get the same versatility Matt gets.

Great walk through on this.

I'm a voice teacher, and I struggled to find a way to convey larynx control to my students! I'm happy to note that what I finally arrived at, is pretty much the same as what is described in this video! One thing I find effective, is to play a video of a basso profundo (like Glenn Miller), and get the student to immitate him! 🙂

I may have missed this, while touching or observing the larynx externally, you should be careful not to manipulate it externally. This could be detrimental to the small muscles that make up your vocal instrument.

High and low notes were most effective in moving my larynx up and down. Thank you for an informative video!

I have watched so many videos just in the last few days, regarding larynx and how you should avoid "reaching and straining", but this is the first video actually telling me how to avoid doing that and what it actually means. THANK YOU! <3

the Guh and yawning is really obvious to feel it go low, thank you very much! i've been learning for 3 years and I found your explanations really helpful. Your soft palate vid was my favourite, the diagram showing the nasal path closed off was eye opening for me. Thank you so much!
