What is thread manager and the other 3 threads ? Who is the thread manager here ? is it the thread from where we call thread.start(), thread.run() (for eg main method)

Hi Saurabh. The advantage is still not clear. You Said we can have threads for different tasks and then context switch between them will not let a thread to sit idle and do nothing. But the example you gave. Suppose DB thread takes 5 sec to complete its task and Request processing thread takes 5 seconds to complete its task. Now even if you do context switch and allocate time slice of CPU among these two tasks say by Round robin algorithm then still you will take Total(5+5=10) seconds. The same you will take in sequential processing. So how is multithreading helping?

hey sir, with the term ' 1 processor' did you mean 'single core' or just single processor with n cores??
