A look at the C919, China’s first homegrown passenger jet

China’s first domestically developed passenger jet, the C919, was recently officially completed. Research began in 2008 and the maiden flight was carried out successfully last year. Our reporter Stu has more.

Welcome China to the aircraft manufacturing industry. Does Anyone know the cost? The design looks great. The world needs competition. Because of the monopoly of Airbus and Boeing, the cost of aircrafts are much more expensive than they should actually be.

With over 700 orders, the future looks bright for the C919.The C029 was tested on the JF-12 (mach 5 to mach 9 ) wind tunnel.The C929 can fly over the Pacific Ocean or Atlantic Ocean in less than two hours.

Unfortunately it looks like every other plane.
I know, computer design, will generally produce a standard design, wing mounted engines etc etc

Can design an active stealth drive the bird device on the nose, such as sonar, beam, infrared, etc., which only affect the birds, depending on which one is effective, like a protective cover to protect the aircraft?

Well so they're late to the game. Got to start somewhere I suppose. Probably pass Russia in the commercial airline sector as they are competitive. Can't tell how good it is or isn't at this point, maybe they'll surprise us???? It's a tough market these days.

Engines from America. Avionics from America. Hydraulics from America and Europe. All aluminum and steel so it’s last generation and not fuel efficient. Landing gear from America. It’s not made by China. It’s simply assembled in China. Just like an iPhone lol 😂

Maid in China 😂😂😂😂😂 engine from South America and other parts of Russia, but finally assembled in China... the international aviation board won't approve a phony product of China but can use for Domestic purpose..
