I don't know if will read this comment guys but
After owning 4 of those trying everything in and out ill tell you that you need to check your vanos system timing and upgrade it, make sure your cam sensors are doing a perfect reading some time they don't throw codes but they don't read accurately, eu headers with cat backs will do a lot of difference, last a custom tune and you will see numbers above expectations.

You never mention that the CSL has different cams. They’re expensive, but would easily take you over the stock CSL rating. Loving this build. An Imola Red E46 M3, over black, in a manual is one of my dream cars 😍

I really hope that exhaust sounds better in person. Sounds like a tiny 4cyl straight piped. I had a mighty max pu back in the day. I straight piped from the cat back, and it sounded just like that. Looks rad, tho. Stay safe with the fires boys 🤘

Must have e46 Mod: Sunbeam equal length section 1. Completely gets rid of the S54 rasp and makes these car's sound fantastic. Pairing one with some catless CSL headers and an HTE tune was probably the most transformative mod i did to my M3 in the 4 years/70k miles i owned it.

All this working on your car, I couldn't do much today due to pain, so I popped the hood and emptied my catch can. It's nice sometimes doing the little things for the machines that give us so many memories.
