Responding to Rishi Sunak's plan to tackle illegal immigration, Sir Keir Starmer said "time and time again this government has not provided serious solutions" and accused Mr Sunak of putting forward an "unworkable gimmick".

He called on the prime minister to clear the immigration backlog of 150,000 cases by the end of next year.

Sunak just speaking more hot air and warm words…proved he doesn’t know how to take back control.

Well said, the problem has grown since BRexit. The lack of resources to process claims and then deal with them, is down to the government. That is inhuman.

That's the 40, 000 coming across in small boats tackled (as if) - that only leaves 460, 000 coming in through ports and airports to sort out. 🤣🤣🤣🤣

What's this? Couldn't KIER LESS making real opposition statement to Parliament. He said Labour would fix it but didn't say how! It is very clear we need REFORM and the sooner the better.

I always find it fascinating and entertaining to watch the British politicians debate in parliament than our US politicians in Washington DC. 😂

Sunak is the leader of a ' do-nothing' government. He can guarantee little other than more pain for the people of this country.

Yeah 7milion a day could be used for all those who bloody protests every bloody day... They do deserve to be able to afford heating and food this winter yet people claiming to not be able to look for help in any other country before UK have bloody private health care and 3 meals a day, not mentioning warm place to sleep and nothing to worry about.

I am imigrant myself. But since day 1 I have had job and earned for my own expenses. Never asked for anything for free. This is awful that nurses are helping every day people but can not afford proper meal themselves !!!

Of all the f-ups we're going through, I'd say that doesn't crack the top 10 of people's concerns (maybe except for Daily Hate readers).

As Sir Keir Starmer says:

"We need to be working internationally to end this cross border crime (trafficking of asylum seekers)".

The UK was doing this successfully as an EU member. It was Brexit that removed the UK from a shared system of mutual responsibility and cross border co-operation between EU members. We didn't gain control of our borders with Brexit, we lost the control we had. What a shame that Sir Keir Starmer can't bring himself to say this! He still believes he has to pander to an ever declining number of Brexit backers and lend his/Labour's support to an unpatriotic project - Brexit - that is and always was inimical to the UK's interests.
