During PMQs Labour leader Sir Keir Starmer brought to attention the funding paid out to private schools, specifically that provided to Winchester College where Rishi Sunak attended.

In response, the Prime Minister said that this was an attack on "the hardworking aspiration of millions of people".

That first question is a perfect example of why PMQs should be gotten rid of and why Lindsey is the worst Speaker in my lifetime. Sir Kier asked a perfectly legit question and Sunak did not even attempt to answer it and instead just spouted nonsense about Gov spending.

Answer the darn questions, it is your duty as PM to answer them.

I am not a labour supporter, but Sunak should answer the questions not waffle.

I wonder if anyone knows why a private school that charges such massive fees would need tax payers money when state schools are really struggling to provide for basic needs? Also I think Winchester was where Rishi went to school also

At this point I think we should all agree to change PMQs to "PM randomly decides what to talk about"

I think when a fee paying school in Suffolk can afford a tv advertising campaign then yes, time to scrap tax breaks for private schools.

Starmer is consistently good at PMQ's; constantly asking probing questions. Sunak should be forced to properly answer the questions.

Since private school is private, no way the government should sponsor private school.

A YouGov poll found most people considered Rishi Sunak to be an intelligent politician and I agree, but it can't be denied he's getting destroyed by Keir Starmer.

Sunak has only lied once, when he claimed he was going to lead a government of integrity 😀😀😀

It is sickening to watch our MPs shouting and bawling and baying at each other like schoolchildren, it seems the object is to score points against each other instead of debating the state of the country and what can be done to improve it? It’s not as if there is nothing to fix, the whole country is in meltdown!

It's called Prime Minister's Questions, not Prime Minister's Answers for a reason.

I think pretty much everyone can see Sunak didn't answer a single question he was asked there.

The Tories as usual were chanting "More" at the end, but its the first time it sounded like "More" in desperation. Sunak got done, again...

Listening to some answers given by the PM is irritating. Direct questions are not simply given direct, appropriate and accurate answers…

Record numbers of new homes.... none of them social... All of them the wrong houses, at the wrong prices, in the wrong locations.

Public school boys running the country!!!
Private schools are not a charity.
State schools running on fumes whilst private schools are awash with money!!
School teachers also require a decent pay rise!
Education budget below 2010 !!!

The tories have built lots of houses that only investors can buy, and then charge 3x the rent to people who cannot afford them. Pushing those people never to be able to afford their own home, as the private landlords make it more and more impossible for first time buyers ever to be able to move on. Tax all owned houses by increasing amounts dependant on how many homes in their portfolios.
