You went to the biggest fire camp in all of Canada! Kootenay fire camp is where all the firefighters stay when there are fires in the area. Lots of history in that camp. It must not be a fire season right now!

Charlie Boorman and Ewan McGregor traveled around the world with a couple chase vehicles, a few cameramen, and a crew. You travel alone with a drone and create videos that rival, and sometimes exceed, their more elaborate productions in terms of quality and interest. Admittedly technology has advanced since they did Long Way Round, etc., but your content is equal to theirs and second to none. Thousands of us have made the same observation, because it is true, and it all works because of your unique, sincere and inquisitive attitude that enlivens each installment, even those that you did several years ago. I am simply spellbound, because unlike Long Way Round and similar elaborate adventures, you demonstrate that a single individual, on a motorbike, can explore the world, and by extension, we too can envision ourselves in your place, even if we will never travel as you have done. You show what's possible for us all and, perhaps most important, show that those we do not know, wherever they may be, or what language they speak, are part of our broad family, accessible to us all. You are so close to the jewel of the Canadian Rockies, the Banff National Park. It's a travellers' mecca because it holds some of the most amazing walking paths through the mountains, lakes and valleys in the park region. I speculate that this will be the only time in your life that you will be in this part of Canada and it would be a lifetime regret that you will repeat through your future conversations when people mention if you walked any trails through this national park. I suggested to my wife that we could offer you a bed in our den in the city of Calgary for you to save some money but it was an idea that didn't ignite her enthusiasm. So I am left with a heartfelt recommendation to not miss a world class park.

When I have to face reality, and take care of responsibilities instead of riding, I start to get a little bit depressed. Then an Itchy Boots video alert pops up and I am taken away on a journey so spectacular that for 20 minutes I am out there with Noraly living the dream.

You'll see a lot more bears up north... You're probably heading northeast to the icefields parkway and then on to the Alaska highway... especially on the Alaska highway we saw somewhere between 1-4 each day.
You'll love it. Greetings from Vancouver Island... we are slowly making our way in the opposite direction now. Patagonia is calling. 😉

Golden BC is incredible. This past winter, I was up in the high mountains shooting for a TV series. We got up there on these MASSIVE snowmobiles. We shot on a frozen lakebed. It was absolutely breath taking. Welcome to Canada from this Cannuck!
