Over my past 9 years in higher education, I have found 8 techniques that maximize my results from time spent studying. For the past two years, I have studied more than I have in my entire life. If I am spending this much time of my life studying, I should use this time as efficiently as possible. Here are my favorite study techniques that help me study more effectively and efficiently.

Here are some of my other videos:

Time Stamps:
0:00 Intro
0:25 Grammarly
1:48 Pomodoro Method
5:55 Feynman Technique
9:14 Avoid These
9:40 Use These
11:20 Spaced Repetition
12:11 Make Connections
13:00 Plan
14:15 Mnemonic Devices
17:38 Conclusion

Your first ever sponsor is legit. I don't regret anything I spent on grammarly in the past school year. Congratulations!

1) Use Pomodoro Method
2) Use Feynman Technique
3) Use practice testing and active recall
4) Use spaced repetition (Anki)
5) Make connections between facts and information in your brain
6) Make a plan and have specific tasks
7) Use memory palace's, acronyms, chuncking

it was very difficult. But I knew it would be. This realization was the best "encouragement" for any effort I made during my medical and surgical education:

"Unlike other subjects I have had to study, this one is the most IMPORTANT. I must actually LEARN this, because this is what I am going to do."

Psychologically, if you truly understand that you must LEARN something to benefit humankind, it is both easier to learn and more gratifying when you do.

The fact that you put out such high-quality content regularly despite your study and work hours is commendable. Definitely deserve this sponsor!

I love that he said 'ín the past 2 years he's never studied so much in his life' it really speaks to me because you have this belief that to prove you can go to med school you have to have studied hard before

Zach I love your channel. I found it a couple of days ago and it is awesome. I’m 75 and my memory isn’t too good, but you are an inspiration on techniques for learning, growing, running, concentration, etc. Wish I had learned these concepts in my youth. I’m excited to watch your next video. Thank you! [Seattle, WA]

European med student here, I applied your anki tips/settings and it has really changed the way I study, I am able to learn so much more in a short amount of time now (60 day streak at the moment!). So thanks for the great videos and advice!

Thank you so much for this! I’m studying for my MCAT and am realizing I need a better technique to recall info for discrete questions so I will definitely use the memory palace!

This video brings me back to when I was studying in America and it was as easy as doing 20 problems or making some flash cards. Unfortunately, in other parts of the world it’s not so simple: so little of the study material is curated that you spend 90% of your time trying to figure out WHAT to study. The remaining time is devoted to cramming before the exam, and we all know how well that works.

i've started watching more studying videos since i've been getting into harder classes like anatomy/physiology. i now spend half the time studying that I used to and I got a 102 on a test where the class average was 70. really solid content, thank you!

I'm not someone who likes commenting online but I also believe giving thanks to people who help me and your videos explaining anki, the add ons I now constantly use and bundling learning techniques have helped me gain my first ever 1, 0 - which is pretty much a perfect score - in my Marketing exam. As I study next to full time work every little improvement in my routine goes a very long way and you have given me good arsenal to choose from.
Thank you very much! keep going and I ma looking forward to seeing more!
All the Best from Hamburg!
