Sega apparently didn't want Sonic to have a "Power Creep" and that's why they didn't have him use the form again, which is just ridiculous since this transformation has it's fans.

I think it had something to do with the Sonic X hyper sonic incident, where a bunch of people had epileptic seizures when the form went on screen. Kind of like how in Pokemon, there was a Porygon episode that made people have seizures and they never added Porygon into another episode until like 20 years later.

The reason Sega doesn't bring the form back is because they want Super to be the go to transformation

I wouldnt be surprised if Sega is just afraid of being responsible for giving all their fans seizures by _exactly_ adapting Hyper Sonic's flashing into 3D.

But, they could always change it up a little. Like make it a slow transition of colors, or just have all of them blend into each other and move around him slowly. Like a lava lamp, or a desktop background hahaha! Or, kinda like the Northern Lights

It’s not because of seizures if that was the case sonic 3 would of been extremely controversial for epilepsy it’s simply cuz hyper sonic was meant as a bonus when you lock the games cuz in sonic 3 and sonic & knuckles alone you just have super sonic

Probably because Sonic Constantly Changes Colors in Hyper Form & that would be hard to pull off & it might lagged the game I think thats why Sega didnt make a 3d version of it

Tl;Dr, think Mastered Ultra Instinct levels of power., but on a hedgehog, and even more damaging to the user that it has only been used once, and when in the form, the being is canonically invincible.

Yeah throwing amy into this was weird. Sega definitely had something they wanted to push for the fanbase. Amy has never at any point showed an ability to do this. It’s clear that the ability to use the emeralds was meant to be an extremely rare thing. Not even tails could use it, and he goes super when using the super emeralds. It’s just bad writing to mess with the story like that.
