Great analysis Steve on probably the best exponent of a "Text book" technique. One good point to note on how flat Neil keeps his action through his feathers, backswing and final delivery is to notice his cue stays in contact with his chin at all times throught his action. Also i think that his cue is brushing his chin with the same amount of pressure all the way from address to delivery as this would be further reassurance for him that he is keeping his cue flat and on a level plane and not creating a seesaw element in his action as he would feel the extra pressure on his chin that a seesaw type action would create. Robertson is mesmerizing to watch when he's at his best. Keep the great videos coming butty👍👍

Further, I request you to make videos on the stance of various professionals as I think stance supports overall cue action. Sometimes, we play unexpectedly well, probably due to right and supportive stance.

Barry has had a great tournament it would be nice to see him take it

Neil's action is a great example of the deltoid muscle staying still through the shot, it's even more prominent on a deep screw shot.

I’ve studied different techniques carefully but I missed the bit about the hand sliding through on the line of aim . Like you said very little elbow drop as is Judd trump and unlike O’Sullivan and others . One particular uniqueness is John Higgins, he has a shorter bridge than most and on his final backswing his elbow drops ( dips? ) more than most and more than on delivery.
Studying different techniques is fascinating, more please .

Nice to see videos of the professionals reinforcing your video training. I think Neil Robertson will win after a close match.

Excellent analysis. I'd never even thought of the sliding hand part. However, would've been curious to see the cue line during the follow through because the cue does seem to dip a little there. Surely it would have to, in order to avoid the tip going into the cloth?

Oh I’ve noticed Judd Trump signing autographs right handed, is he a natural right hander ? Also the use of the rest right handed by some southpaws is common enough but the I’ve never seen a right hander using the rest left handed .
Any thoughts on that, please .

I notice that at address his wrist is cocked forward as opposed to hanging neutral. What does that do? Does it aid in keeping the motion flat?

He is 100% textbook. Which is harder than it sounds. I think Neil has been off his game so far. But when he settles into the game properly he will come to life and should beat Hawkins. Barry is a solid player but Robertson is elite

This is your 2nd video, which is under my consideration, in which you properly analyzed the elbow drop scenario. This help me a lot. Previous, I followed all your key points in various videos but couldn't improve my game. By using this method (elbow drop scenario), my game is suddenly improving to my motivation level. I really appreciate your hard work really grateful to you. Good bless you. 🙌

would you say his cue was slightly brushing his chest, he's also right eye dominant ! was also looking at the grip on the back cam angle and at one point you can see the index and thumb holding whilst the others have unfurled !

I guess the "cue to the chest" is the decider of how much follow through the cue has past the contact point of the cue ball?

is the elbow drop related to the distance between the bridge and the cue ball ? i mean more distance = more backswing ? thanks for the vids
