i knew some people from the US were racist and closed minded but after reading the comment section im literally dumnfounded on how heartless and rude people can truly be to protect their opinion.

How about this, shorten the time for legal immigration and hire more government workers to do so. In most regular person (not A1’s, doctors, or asylum seekers) cases, it takes an average 8 years.

I'm the daughter of an immigrant. Is she legal? My parents respected and follow the law. Took them years to become legal.
Why are these people today different..
They sound like they want amenesty. Wt? Get a sponsor! Fill out an application already.
Think of the millions of people who came here legally...Ellis island!! If you were sick, you were quarrentined!
Someone needs to give these people a history lesson!

If your children were in danger in their home country - truly in danger of abuse, violence, etc - and approached America illegally and was told that we couldn't help you, but can give the children asylum at least. Would you take your children back to the violence or leave them here. I don't know if they were given that choice, and maybe not. But as a parent I would ask someone who I thought could, to keep them safe. But VOTE VOTE VOTE, every time, every chance. You have that right, you earned it, you deserve it, don't be afraid to use it.

17 years ago . And I bet it's Trump's fault.

It's not about being legal or illegal; following the law or not following the law. These children don't know these things. The lack of compassion from this administration and his supporters is disgusting and mind blowing. It's easy to point fingers because you are in a better place. Not everyone is born with privileges and a good education, but if you were born with these, it should be our duty to help these people! Get off your high horse.

The anger and frustration is obviously very clear. The process for asylum didn't seem to be though. Maybe the correct process isn't known to many. Any process can and should be improved upon however.

If you missed your family that much you should have returned to your birth country.
