Kudos, nice guy & video 👌! About downgrading because of hardware he is totally right. NVIDIA as example is supporting the FX 4600 until Kernel 5.4. only. The legacy 340xx driver will not work on newer kernels, despite the graphic card is still top notch for rendering 2D and 3D vector graphics. Blacklisting the Nouveau driver will not work without downgrading the kernel.

Hello Joe, i really enjoy these instructional videos of yours. They are informative and useful for completing specific tasks. I learn something new. Thank you for taking the time to go into detail.

I do have a small question if i may. I understand the thing about new kernels and hardware support and performance. This may not be necessary for a casual user, so sticking to the old kernel may offer more stability. But as seen in your video, those updates seem to be point releases of the same kernel. Would it not be good to always install these as they may offer security patches?
Actually, this brings another question. Would it be possible to only update the kernel if it is for security and how would you know?

I love your channel. I'm fairly new to Linux and I have Fedora so if you could do more video on Fedora (tips and tricks) I would appreciate. Thanks!

Hi Joe, I'm a total noob to Linux. Is it possible to upgrade kernel on debian especially ubuntu 16 without upgrading the OS itself?
