I see three paths this could lead to. One, she resented him and ended up either killing or cutting ties with him. Two, she did grow to love him as a father against the said person's wishes and managed to help him change. Or three, yes she did grow to love him, but maybe something he did along the lines triggered past resentment which resulted in her hating him again. Either way, this is brilliant!
