I never comment on yt videos but wanted to say thx for the great review! Really well made video. I want to love the 7a, but similar to you i dislike the over sharpened and over contrasty style it tends to produce. I hope in the future both google and apple provide users with easy to use options to configure the image processing algorithms (ex. Natural mode)

Your commentary around 10:00 doesn't match the actual photo results. Most of the iPhone photos look a lot more saturated compared to Pixel photos (reds and orange are a bit too punchy). Furthermore, the photos at 9:35 and 9:42 show that the iPhone punches up the contrast level & sharpens a bit too much, and colours look a bit off too.

I like the video but I have questions. The 2x seems to be nothing more than a crop? Binning would be combining cells with no crop, correct? I also like your framing on the shots you showed though I preferred the non edited versions. I am considering the 7a but also the s23 ultra, I know it is twice the price but with four times the storage it may be the better choice, what are your thoughts?

Well, i like the pixel for its great HDR. If you want it silhouette, you could go edit them later

Nice review. I agree, shame the pixel overdoes the HDR look. Nice when you want it, but most of the time it would be better without.

Do you reckon the camera on the 7a is better than an iphone 13 Plus Pro? I changed to iPhone after always being on android and just don't like the operating system. The camera is good enough so I wouldn't want to go backwards in camera quality - especially for video. Love to hear your thoughts!

Sorry, but if anything is natural in daylight then it's the pixel photos. iPhone overexposes and photos thus look artificial AF.

for me the pixel images are way better, be it the statue or the sky. Iphone couldnt even show the details on the statue when the sun was directly behind.
