Nail Tech here - as someone who studied the basics of nail health and anatomy/prevention…yes yes and yes! Such a helpful video, always trying to spread the word to my clients on how to take care of their nails/always learning new methods as I go along my career ^^

Love this! Yes, nails are jewels, not tools! And yes, diet (healthier food choices not being on a deprivation diet) does help with both healthy nails and skin.

Yay...you’re back. My natural nails are growing. After having some hair loss I started taking powder vitamins that dissolves in my coffee. My nails are so strong now and the hair is coming back in. I will definitely use your tips in the future. Hope all is well with you and Chris and your precious bunny! I love seeing him on Instagram.

Well this was eye opening! I went through a phase where I was constantly using gel polish but I was totally botching the removal process and my nails were absolutely destroyed as a result. I've been keeping regular polish on them which requires repainting my nails every 2-3 days and they're finally healthy again (still short but at least the plate is healthy). I'm seriously thinking I'm going to try again and do it right this time!

I love this video! Great tips, just an additional mention for my girlies with flatter nails: add structure! My natural nails don’t all have a natural apex, so I add extra product to the centre to grow them out long :)

I'm so glad you like the glass cuticle pushers! I've been loving them too. My nails got severely damaged back in March, so I've been slowly and gently growing out the damage. They're almost to the point where I can wear extensions again. I also really love rubber bases and top coats!

I have been procrastinating on doing my nails. I really love how you don’t change up your products much. You have been using gelish prep stuff since I started watching you some years ago. Thank you for keeping your product list consistent

I have really long natural nails but I still love watching these videos. I’m always looking for new informations. My biggest advice for people who don’t do gel nails is *always have a coat of nail polish(clear works too) at all time*

Excellent tips! I have always had strong nails, but since becoming anemic I've struggled with retaining length. I wash my hands constantly as well so definitely implementing these tips❤️❤️❤️

The communicative, technical nature of this video is so refreshing. Clear as a bell. Thank

I’d love to hear more about the nail rod! I didn’t know this tool existed. I have the same issue with my nails curling in on the sides.

Glass cuticle pusher is a game changer. I got 1 on Amazon and it's so efficient and gentle. Wish I knew about them sooner. I was using metal.

Best video for a new gel user! I love how you show each step and explain how each product works. I am trying for the first time in my 60 year old life to grow my natural nails and I'm taking your tips and tricks. Only suggestion I have is to slow down a bit when you are showing the bottles of something so that we can get a better look at the bottle, the name and what the product is called. I try to write them down so that I can use what is tried and true. Love love love this videa!

i think i don't only speak for myself - i really appreciate that you share your own experience and the results that have worked for you. so many "professional" nail channels and websites, and so many channels and websites that just copy and paste the information they find on the internet are so uninformed and harmful to those of us trying to learn. you're openness to share what you know is really helpful and i know it's something so small like nails, but not only is it a creative outlet for is that you're helping us maintain and keep healthy, but you're being such a wonderful example to the world that doing your own research and taking your time to experiment and make a few mistakes is how you find the best and most worthwhile results. thank you, i really appreciate your work and the time you put into offering your own unique wisdom for this world. more and more of you keep popping up and it's a beautiful thing to witness. all the best to you and your future💓

Thank you for pointing out the glass cuticle file tool; I ordered a set too and was impressed right away. :) I do not use an e-file, but apply my own soak off gel. I have very dry skin, and always struggled with getting to those super hard to reach edges and corners without hurting my skin. That glass tool is absolutely perfect for the job. 👌

As always, I enjoy watching your videos! 😀

This video has helped me so much! Started my nail journey with this video a month ago, and all my nails are passed my finger length already! Majority of my nails had broken off before I started my nail journey from being snagged on stuff, and peeling which makes them even thinner.

My nails are basically paper thin, and after a certain length they just break or peel off since they had zero protection before and I never used cuticle oil. This video has helped me build some good habits, like using cuticle oil and wearing gloves when doing dishes. The best thing for my nails was using gel nail polish to keep them strong and reinforced to prevent them from breaking.

I still wear regular nail polish on top of my gel nail polish, since I love the regular nail polish that I already have. The regular nail polish doesn't last more than a few days to a week before it comes off my nail in one sheet, but it's fine since it gives me an excuse to paint my nails again with a new style, but the gel nail polish stays on strong as long as I don't use the peely gel base.

I'm so glad I found this video, it's been a game changer for me, and I can't wait to have really long natural nails for once. 😊

Try Paula's Choice 2% BHA Liquid Exfoliant on your proximal folds. I brush it on then I top it with cuticle oil before I fall asleep, and I wake up with hand-model hands.

Back in 2020 when I stopped going to the salon, I watched a couple of your vids and based on your tutorials and excellent descriptions (verbal and written) decided to go with Gelish. I've ONLY used Gelish since then. To begin with I was removing all the gel in between manicures with nail wraps, but I was doing serioussss damage to my natural nails, so about a year ago I decided to suck it up and learn to do fill-ins.

Now, with the exception of filling in instead of full removal and starting from scratch, I do my nails exactly the same way you do yours. Well, I usually shorten and shape my nails while the old manicure is still on there, THEN I file the bulk off and reapply, so almost exactly.

But that leads me to wonder when do you shorten yours, while you shape them after you've applied the Structure? Do you use a 180 grit hand file for the whole shortening process, or do you start with nail trimmers?

I am so incredibly grateful for your videos, my nails have NEVER grown this long without bending, breaking, lifting...it's insane how many times I struggled with broken nails when I used to get acrylics at the salon (also, can I just say it is SO ANNOYING when you ask a nail tech to give you gel nail enhancements and they pull out the acrylic powder and the liquid and look you in the face to say 'yes, these are gel nails' No, my sister in christ, these are acrylic nails with GEL NAIL POLISH. I couldn't find a nail tech willing to use all gel and that is RIDICULOUS. *rant over, sorry). Now I'm so obsessed with how good my nails look, (I do one coat of Structure in pink topped with one in clear, then a clear top coat which gives my nails a sort of Dior look) I cannot stop admiring them. It's almost embarrassing.

Thank you so, so much.

Your nails are looking amazing! I am so happy that you are looking after them and not cutting them off every time you get a new set. Your nails are beautiful! Take care, 😊
