Imagine moving to Atlanta Ga, only to be hit by the same reason many people left their original state in the first place.

When the average person makes 15-14 dollars a hour. No one can afford it. There should be a segment on that. Plus everyone is forced to work 2 and 3 jobs just to survive.

We got an increase of $275/month, good grief. We don't feel like to pack up and move. So it sucks.

That’s what happens when you print money and spend out of control

This will fall on deft ears!!! I’m a single dad with 2 kids and I have to make it on a disability check because I broke my back on the job and the guy had no insurance even though he advised and told me he did.
Better yet he goes to work like nothing happened because the state of GA did nothing to him.

I understand what their grievances are but pressuring or threatening landlords with rent controls measures will aggravate this situation just like the consequences renters are reaping today because under duress, the government controlled private landlords properties by allowing tenants to live almost 2 years rent free with little to no recourse for landlords. These rent hikes are the chickens coming home to roost. Landlords lost billions of dollars due to the government allowing tenants to hold landlords’ properties hostage for 2 years so by hook or crook they are working to get their lost money back someway somehow.

Rents were rising way before the pandemic was even a thought so I wish people would stop blaming it all entirely on covid-19. It has a part, but it's not the biggest.

The state and local government has ways to regulate rent and home cost. Private sector is price gouging.

Everyone of those marchers should of bought a house when it was a bear market. Housing is a business! Everything costs to make the house and to keep it up. You can’t expect everything free or cheap. Also property owners have to pay an increase of insurance and property taxes every year they don’t raise rents for greed all the time it’s just to keep up so they are not losing money. You can’t blame the landlords for everything.
