I've been sleeping in my car for the past 5 months. When my lease was up I did not renew. I was paying $1700 for a one-bedroom. I sleep in my car during the week and get a hotel on the weekends and save a lot of money. I can afford to rent but the prices are too insane. Screw that.

How likely is it that the people who are being negatively impacted by the rent increases will be able to purchase a home??? What percentage? How can you save for a down payment for a house if the extra cash is going to higher rent & wages aren’t increasing??? It’s still a seller’s market so it’s not looking great, but wishing the best for all those affected.

If a college educated adult has to have roommates in order to survive, that is incredibly sad.

My rent went up 19.5%, we have no protection from unreasonable rate hikes because there are no laws preventing it

I prepared for this 2 years ago. I bought a $10, 000 piece of land with cash, cleared trees and put a cabin on it and haven't paid rent in the last 2 years. No, I don't have electric, plumbing or running water but I don't care. You know how awesome its been not paying rent? Move into your car, save 10k, find a property rural with a stream, and take your business elsewhere. I spent 10 years telling myself I couldn't leave my home-state, and now that I finally did I can barely even remember the name of said state. Yes, my life has had some challenges in the last 2 years, but nothing like the challenge of trying to survive working 50 hours a week for basically nothing.

2020 & 2021, it was the Landlords being hurt by renters not paying … this year and next…it’s the renters being hurt by soaring rents. I’m a landlord. Trying not to hike my rents up too much, but I have landlord friends that are showing no mercy.

It's not only in Atlanta. I live in Cincinnati and my son rent went up $300 dollars he is now moving back home to buy a house. My mortgage is cheaper than his rent. My cousin owns rental properties and he said for all the ppl that didn't or couldnt pay their rent during Covid will make all the others that paid their on time pay when this is all said and done.

👉📖🔑 Psalm 23 KJV
23 The Lord is my shepherd; I shall not want.
2 He maketh me to lie down in green pastures: he leadeth me beside the still waters.
3 He restoreth my soul: he leadeth me in the paths of righteousness for his name's sake.
4 Yea, though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil: for thou art with me; thy rod and thy staff they comfort me.
5 Thou preparest a table before me in the presence of mine enemies: thou anointest my head with oil; my cup runneth over.
6 Surely goodness and mercy shall follow me all the days of my life: and I will dwell in the house of the Lord for ever.

Cost of living keeps going up while many hourly wages & salaries still remain stagnant. They say buy a home but home prices are steadily climbing. It only helps if someone has enough funds that they made on their own which can be used to buy a home.

You will own nothing and be happy pay or be evicted. Who the hell want to pay for a apartment that’s 1, 500. How can the average person or family even save for a house if the rent keeps going up but not the pay. All this is design for people to fail in America.

2:31 Telling struggling renters that it might be cheaper just to buy is, for most such viewers, a cruel taunt.

It is definitely better to try and buy a home right now, these apartments are making people pay crazy prices and still have broken gates 😒
