I will never not be pissed off about the fact that Daisy, Adam, and John had some of the most interesting characters introduced in Star Wars and Disney completely shat the bed with all of them. Finn in particular had so much promise. The whole storm trooper subplot of them being abducted as children and conditioned went no where and it could’ve been one of the coolest and heartfelt storylines in the entire saga. But it would’ve had nothing to do with the Skywalkers and it would’ve involved the force users not being the sole heroes.

Adam’s “not a writer” and doesn’t want to “impose” on the writers, but he fought to humanize Kylo in TFA.

Adam’s “not a writer, ” yet he knows enough about writing for stage and screen, his organization runs contests for aspiring writers.

My guess is that somebody during production of TROS reminded him that he wasn’t a writer. Someone told him to back off or “relax” and trust the writers. That he’d be surprised by where they’d take his and Daisy’s characters.

Supposedly he and Daisy had to tell JJerrio that Rey and Ben should kiss.

I think he should’ve fought harder, because IX and the world needed more “sentimental and obvious” It was also truer to George’s vision.

I get that he doesn’t want to have to impose his ideas on writers. But when they’re hacks like JJerrio, it’s clearly necessary. Humanizing Kylo/Ben in TFA was brilliant, and the ideas he “imposed” on JJ were all genius moves. The only truly great scenes in TROS were made so by Adam’s ideas.

He really should write, and writers should trust him.

Adam Drive is a mew generation of great actors. I love his Kylie Ren complexity, his wonderful timing and humor on SNL. He was amazing in White Noise and I know some people panned it but most who did were not readers of the novel nor were they
Academics . Driver nailed the absurd Professor of Hitler Studies but also coping with chaos of the toxic airborne event, his wife’s Eshon with a drug to help her fear, death less and subsequent affair. He really understands each of his rules intimately, but also makes them his own. There’s such a great combination of toughness, anger, humor, and warmth in his characterizations, which makes him such an incredible actor. I hope the book I’m working on someday it becomes a movie and Adam driver is in it.❤
