There was a family in my neighborhood, they were refugees from North Korea that managed to scape. But when they arrived to our country their new house was robbed, and all the jewelry from the mom were stolen.
A few years later, in the news were showing how a pretty famous man from our country had proposed to his girlfriend, and they showed the ring he used to proposed.
It was one of the stolen jewelry.
It then became a big scandal because she contacted the police and a lawyer and showed proof that the ring was stolen from her years before, so it became a scandal that the man had bought stolen jewelry.

It’s like that book from like 2015. I thinks it’s called like refugee. It’s three stories about a refugee from the Syrian conflict, a refugee from Germany during 1930s and a refugee escaping Cuba in the 1990s. Really cool, you should check it out
