Why is there a staffing crisis in the NHS?

Year after year, we hear that the NHS is in Crisis, and that staffing is at an all time low. Why is this the case?

In this short video, I look at the reasons behind the staffing crisis, having worked as a doctor in the NHS for the last 16 year of my life.

I've heard doctors and nurses can expect better working conditions, higher pay, better weather, cheaper but higher quality housing, less hours and better standards of education in developed countries.

Non-clinical managers keep asking me to stay back. I said I will do it if you pay me overtime! Always asking me to do in-lieu. I just walk out! I don't get paid for overtime.

Because it’s a bureaucratic nightmare and appoints obnoxious individuals to senior management.

Another problem is that the NHS try to prolong life at any cost, when the quality of that person’s life has long gone, I.e. dementia, old age, stroke victim. Just let the person die naturally, without pumping them full of drugs. Btw I’m 70 and don’t want resuscitation etc if I ever have a stroke or heart attack.

Pay the doctors more. Pay the nhs more and stop stealing money. It’s not hard to understand.
