My grandma just turned 17 when she married my grandpa—who’d just turned 22. They were married over 65 years, and I watched that man wait on her hand and foot during her five year illness that took her independence and mobility and eventually took her life.

He never once complained—she was his greatest treasure.

She died with her husband holding her hand. He only let go and got up once she was truly gone.

The day she died, I got to sit and listen to him tell the story of how he met her. How he jumped into a creek at a church picnic before remembering he still had his watch on. So he handed it to a pretty girl with bright eyes sitting on the bank.

The way he leaned into his chair and said, “that day changed my life”—I’ll remember that too.

I think it comes from the critical theory obsession with "power dynamics." Everything needs to be a hierarchy of oppresssion, even age.

I’m 32 my wife is 25 been together since she was 20 and I was 27. She was diagnosed with breast cancer when she was 22. She is now breast cancer free and we are both so happy.

These are the same people who say things like, "Love is love, " "you do you, " "live and let live, " "do what you will, for that is the whole of the law, " and so on.

All these folks are doing is abiding by the rules and standards which YOU established.

In my book, as long as they’re legal, I don’t care what the age gap is. I won’t judge anyone for it. It’s ironic how the same people who are “allies” of LGBTQ are against age gap relationships… make it make sense.

My wife is 64 and im 50 we've been together 22 years and shes my best friend and couldn't imagine my life without her. Shes been called a cougar more than once. This shouldn't even be a discussion.

I will never be able to understand why so many people are that mad over age gap relationships. I myself am a person who's always had crushes on men (mostly characters in movies) who were 20+ years older than me and I do still find men of any ages attractive. That being said, as a 25 y.o. girl I could be perfectly fine with dating a 45+ y.o. man, so why is it anybody's business? Two adults, man and woman, should be able to do whatever they want. "But there are old men who abuse inexperienced young girls! But there are young girls who abuse naive old men!" So what? Any partner can be an awful partner regardless of their age and gender. You should always be wise enough to build a healthy relationship. Gross.

My stepUP Dad was 20 years older than my mom. He was 48 and she was 28 when they married, and it was one of the happiest days of my life. They were married for 36 years until he became ill and passed away almost 10 years ago. He didn’t even look or act that much older. And they just belonged together- they did everything together and had so many common interests. We miss him so much.

I'm 42 my husband is 29 and we get all kinds of looks but in our defense you look at 20 something year olds they've got different baby daddies, they don't take care of their men, they aren't loyal to them, in a dress half naked then they mad that us older ladies got them. Screaming there ain't no good men left out there well they were out there and y'all didn't treat them right so they can come to us cuz we're old and tired we ain't got time to play games 😆
