You enter the tavern just as the clock strikes nine. The tables are already taken and the bar is packed, so you squeeze your way through the crowd to find a corner you can stand in. Across the room sits a low stage with just a single player sitting on a stool tuning his lute. As the last chime of the clock bell strikes, a hush moves over the crowded bar, washing away the din you hadn't noticed until it was gone. The bard tunes one final string and begins to play.

His music is soft and melodic, carrying clearly through the tavern. You're impressed by the music, but only a little.
But as you think these thoughts, the bard strikes a chord and a seeming spirit stands from the stool and takes position next to him - a copy, a shadow of the bard, belting out a dancing melody on a flute. The music rises in tempo as another spirit rises from within the bard and takes position on the other side, tapping upon his drums, rattling away a beat so strong and true. The music takes on a magical quality, pulling your soul higher and higher, lifting your heart into the rafters of the tavern. All of the listeners, a crowd of bodies crammed together in this tiny space, sway together as one, drinks aloft in salute as images begin to flash before your eyes - a golden meadow, a bonne lass, a forest of green, a river of blue, and white rays of sunshine on your face.

And then it ends. The music has stopped and the tavern echoes with silence as you look around to regain your bearings. Up on the stage you see only a single bard, sitting cross-legged on a stool, gently strumming a few random chords on a lute.

Man, as a Blind Guardians fan since 90s, I say that your tribute is AMAZING!!! Hearing this instrumental Bard's Song I made a HUGE TRIP TO MIDDLE EARTH in my mind. It's AWESOME!!! Congrats. I hope the original Bard's can hear this great and well deserved tribute.
