I think, "Because I was tired" is dependent clause. Because it has noun and verb of its own. Bur the teacher in video says, "Because I was tired is dependent phrase.

Okay. Now I found the mistake of the teacher here in this video. At 15:01. You will see the big title, "COMPLEX SENTENCES" in big bold letter. Under this, you will see the definition of complex sentence. Defination says, Complex sentence contains one simple sentence and a subordinating clause with subordinating conjunction.

But the formula he gave is ;

SUBJECT +VERB+ SUBORDINATING PHRASE(it should be subordinating clause).
The definition and formula he gave contradicts. Not only this. In examples he says, " Dependent phrase", which is wrong.

The correct formula will be.

Subject +Verb+subordinating clause(not subordinating phrase which gave in formula).

I ask you teacher, please correct this. New people are getting confused.

Today I can say it is wrong. Because I saw the contradiction in defination of complex sentence and its explanation.

I am just discussing the subject. Please do not feel bad about my message.

I want to help all and even the teacher and hurt non.
