Welcome to Bonita's Kitchen! Today we will be making SALMON BREAD ROLL, this recipe today is my recipe and one I love making when we have company. This is a delicious appetizer or you can enjoy it with a soup or chowder. Recipe posted below!

FILLING FOR SALMON:
1 Fillet of salmon or more 1 Pack, cream cheese
2 Tbsp, sour cream 2 Tbsp, mayo
1 Tsp, sea salt ¼ Tsp, white pepper
1 Tsp, onion powder ½ Tsp, dill
1 Tsp, lemon juice 1 Tbsp, green chopped onion
METHOD for salmon:
In a saucepan with water, bring to a boil add ½ tsp sea salt and salmon cook for about 5 minutes then remove.
Place on a plate to cool and flake apart, add to food processor or bowl.
Then add all the other ingredients EXCEPT green onion, mix together and remove the hook and scoop out salmon filling and add to flat dough to roll. Follow instructions below.
Dough for Salmon Rolls:
Ingredients:
2¼ Cups, flour 2 Tsp, Yeast, fast rising or traditional
½ Tsp, sea salt 1 Tsp, sugar
1 Tbsp, melted butter 1 Cup, warm water
1 Large, egg
Method for dough:
In a large bowl add 2 cups flour and sea salt mix together.
Then in a small bowl add warm water, yeast and sugar, let rise for five minutes.
Mix your egg in a small bowl and in another bowl warm butter, then pour both in with the dry ingredients.
After yeast have risen pour in with the dry ingredients, then start mixing everything together with a wooden spoon or kitchen aid. When dough becomes hard to mix with spoon, use your hand and knead it by pulling the dough towards you and pushing downwards for about 5 to 10 minutes. using more warm water and ¼ cup flour to bring it all together, let rise for 20 minutes in bowl.
Then roll out the dough on a piece of parchments paper when rolled flat, add salmon cream cheese filling and top with more cooked salmon and green onions.
Then roll away from you until the end, cut in 1 inch rolls, place in a baking pan lined with parchment paper or greased, continue doing this until complete. Then top salmon bread rolls with melted butter.
Then cover with a towel let rise for 15 to 20 minutes or so, After dough is risen remove pre-heated oven of 350ºF then bake for 30 to 35 minutes, or until baked. Depending on your oven, remove from oven and brush some melted butter over top and serve.
Baking Tips:
If your yeast is not rising after five minutes toss and start again.
Place dough rolls in the oven with the LIGHT ON ONLY and let rise, this will keep it warm.
