Ground Zero of Networking: Mastering OSI's Physical Layer 1

preview_player
Показать описание
OSI Layer 1 comprises three sublayers: encoding, parallel to serial and amplifiers, LEDs, and lasers. Layer 1 pushes data to mind-blowing speeds of 20Tbps across ocean floors via fiber cables. New server NICs are pumping data at 200Gbps in data centers.

Layer 1 is where signals are impacted by NEXT (Near End Crosstalk) FEXT (Far End Crosstalk), reflection, refraction, dispersion, absorption, and attenuation just to name a few! More money is spent at Layer 1 than all other layers combined!

I don't understand how someone can put a dislike on this video. This is HUGE work! I have some research to do related to WEP/WPA/WPA2 and I hope Lowell has made a video about this subject, this is my primary source of IT information on Youtube :)

I've worked as a 'cable guy' in some pretty austere conditions in remote villages in Alaska and appreciate the complexities of layer 1. You have done an excellent job at presenting new and interesting information. I knew about the importance of clean FO connectors but never realized dirt could cause permanent damage to the connection. Just that new information and the detailed explanation as to the why made me want to return for more information. I'm a new fan of #techsavvyproductions.

I'm thinking of doing a fibre course, just to learn more stuff like this. Absolutely awesome delivery as always. Thank you and respect to all the fibre engineers carrying out quality assurance checks. I know first hand if the fibre isn't right, it wreaks havoc across network switches leaving IT with a bad reputation for no reason.

Wonderfully made! The Lord has given you so much knowledge, brother. It's no doubt that we were made in the image of God. Thanks for those verses you display from time to time. God's Word does not return empty (Isaiah 55:11).
