I love my hammock! The ratchet strap was a good idea! I have the MalloMe XL Hammock straps (about $18 on Amazon) which allows it to be mounted almost anywhere securely. I think it'll be too long for your van, though.

One suggestion I have is that it should be set up so the head end of the hammock should be lower than the foot end. You will wind up more level and be far less likely to slide down towards your feet. It sounds odd, but it works. I'm 66 and have been sleeping in a hammock exclusively for 14 years. Good luck.

I have a bad back and neck, so after trying to sleep in my brand new bed I was so uncomfortable month after month, that I finally got a hammock/stand, and now I've been able to sleep like a baby for over a year!
I traveled from TX AL FL CA MO LA for 9 months, but I've felt stuck in my 2 year lease that's costing me $1, 300/mo, so on Sept 1st, I will finally be able to get back to a $500 monthly budget!
So I am thinking of trading my Jeep in for a minivan, so that I can stretch out in a hammock and have plently of space during the day.
