I had to rent one of these. Spectacular fuel economy and such a refined interior. I am not a fan of SUV’s but if I were to buy one, this would be it.

Out of every any car review that watch yours is the most simple yet profesional and pleasant to watch! Good job!

I got 2019 FWD Tiguan with basic trim and it has astonishing fuel economy for its class. Long story short if cruising around 45-55 mph it can get around 36MPG (of course depends on ambient temperature). Usually with combined cycle I have 30-32MPG, which is still quite impressive.

We had a 2020 Tiguan for a company vehicle for a while and we constantly averaged 32 mpg. - much better to drive than the 20' Escape Titanium we have now.

Nice Review. I bought the 2021 SEL. Love it so far. Very smooth ride. Enough power and torque. Very spacious. The 4motion is awesome. Discover a new feature almost every week! Lots of electronics! I used to own a Golf. VW still pretty solid. I just hope it ages well. I would recommend.

Volkswagen needs to up the power in their whole SUV lineup !

I had a 2018 SE, these are almost perfectly packaged for a midsize crossover. Wish VW would at least give the option of the GTI-Spec 2.0T.

I like the little tap you do when you are about to enter the car. Classy.

VW should consider offering the GTI tune of the 2.0T, especially for a larger entry in this segment with upper trims in the high $30k’s…

That road looks fun. There's just something really nice about driving VWs, even if the interiors are kinda cheap looking these days. The engine is pretty smooth for a four cylinder and the steering is nice and light but accurate.

I use to work for VW sales, they are good simplistic cars.

OK, I’m on my seventh VW (Tiguan 2022) love the way they handle, tight and always great brakes! It’s my first AWD and when I drive in sport mode it’s almost like my 2019 Golf. My first SUV, leased because I’m 6 ft (and way old!) and I prefer the easier access and seating position. If you’re concerned about expensive repairs after mfg. warranty expires, my insurance (GEICO) covers 7 years or 100K miles when you insure brand new vehicle. That’s under mechanical breakdown with $250 deductible. I’ve NEVER had a problem with any VW except my first one, a ‘65 Beetle.

I've got a 2021 ID.4 and think the whole capacitive systems works great. Just takes a bit of getting used to. Great review on the Tiguan!

Great review. I have a 2017 Sportwagen that I plan to drive for another couple of years. The Tiguan seems like a lifted (and more spacious) Sportwagen. It will be interesting to see how it evolves over that time. Perhaps nicer looking yet harder to use UIs, but more power.

we still have a 2013 awd, it's been very reliable for a vw and is still a joy to drive

I think I could deal with the so-so power. I keep reading about nightmares with the VW pano roof leaking. I would not want to step down to lower models to avoid it, so it puts one in a tough spot. I'd like to hear from others who have the pano roof. Otherwise, the clean design, features, space, and usability seem great.
