2022 Volkswagen Tiguan R line review by The Straight Pipes. The 22 Tiguan is putting down 184 horsepower and 221 lb-ft of torque from a 2.0L Turbo 4 cylinder. At $45,045 CAD, would you take it over the Mazda CX-5, Toyota Rav 4, Nissan Rogue, Honda CR-V?

The ride quality in this car is superb. It feels like a car from a couple of segments above it. Firm yet forgiving. My friend has one of these and every time I drive it, I find myself coming back home and searching for used ones online 😂

I absolutely love the sheer disbelief of Jacob when the passenger side fails the visor test 😂😂

I recently got one for my growing Family and I loved it. The style, the space, the atlantic blue colour and the fully loaded specs is just amazing. Ultimate choice for a Family option.

Owned the 1st gen 2012, and now the 2nd gen 2018 r-line.

Great car for the city. The 1st gen is honestly is much solid car. The current one is fancier, though 2.0L but it is not that easy on gas

This is my sporty non sporty family SUV I use to cart around my two kiddos that I tuned with APR to make it more bearable. Yes, I'm the dad that still wishes he was driving a sports car, but settled with this... My midlife crisis will be glorious!

Honestly have been searching for a Tiguan video from you guys this whole week. Super stoked on the video, not sure how I feel about the car itself now. Best (HONEST) reviews on the tube

Owners of a 1.5 4cyl front wheel drive 2021 Tiguan for a year now, super happy with it. Enough power for a family car, and comfy on long road trips. The space for passengers and stuff is the best bit. Can fit two adults in the back with a child seat on, which is a massive win.

Loved the video, have a VW myself. I have found when you put winter tires on it, and check off "Winter tire" option in settings it does cause the transmisison to downshift slower (most likely due to trying to avoid spinning the tires while in winter mode). It would be interesting to test this in summer

VW North America needs to bring the Tiguan R (and even the Arteon R) over from Europe. We need more than an appearance package here!!!

I have a 2018 Tiguan SEL-Premium (top of the line in the US aside from the R-line package) and I love it. It still has hard buttons for everything, nothing is capacitive aside from the menu around the touchscreen. I also have the 3rd row with 4motion. It's a great car and I highly recommend it.

It's important to note that this is the SEL R-Line, not the SE R-Line. The easiest way to tell is the headlights.

Looks as sharp as a crisply tailored suit. Such a clean and nice design. I love it. ❤️

I bought a 2021 Tiguan Highline R Line and I am loving it. Better than the last car I had.

I have a 2016.5 CX-5 GT and I test drove the new Tiguan (FWD) a couple of weeks ago. It's a beautiful car and drove nicely but nothing like my CX-5. I found the steering to be too light and numb and that was deal breaker for me. On the 4motion version, you are able to customize some of the driving dynamics including steering however, they didn't have any in stock that I could test drive.

One thing I’m happy to see is a light interior. When I was younger and from a practical standpoint black is fine but it’s so boring and dull inside, more light colour interiors are welcomed.

I think the problem with this R Line is that they nailed the last one, so this one isn’t as aggressive and cool looking

Out of all of the SUV's I've driven, the Tiguan definitely feels much more luxurious than most. It's so smooth, the steering wheel feels beautiful in the hand, the audio is superb, it's comfortable. And the adaptive cruise makes me feel like I'm driving a Telsa especially when I'm driving between Ottawa and Toronto! Gotta admit though, I'm not a huge fan of this light interior lol 😆 overall, I love my 2018 highline. Oh and love that it comes with remote start
