The adjusting screw which is hidden by the prime ball is actually to adjust how much fuel you want to feed the carburetor from the fuel tank. Thank you for your video, it helps a lot.

Nice video. @3:13 for the PB 500T Walbro carb, these can be adjusted just like the others. You need a Micro D Carburetor adjustment tool, which you can buy online. If you don't have the Micro D tool, fear not. You can take a standard ink straw from a writing pen, cut a slit in the end with a razor blade so the hole can open up a bit and fit over the needle. Insert it into the adjustment hole over the needle and then, while applying pressure to the straw, simply rotate to adjust.

Thanks for the info. I rebuilt the carb on my mini-tiller and replaced the fuel lines but been having trouble finding a good explanation on how to adjust the carburetor correctly. You explained it very well.

Well dude you might come over long and laborious to those who know how to set the small carburetor, but to people out there who had never adjusted one in there life, you have helped in a understanding way.Cheers,

When overhauling these carbs you should turn that "hidden" screw out all the way. It will push the brass fitting out. Throw the brass fitting away. Take the screw all the way out and clean it and the port it came out of. Great video. Most people don't know about that screw and they go crazy trying to fix their trimmer.

I just adjusted the replacement carb on my Ryobi CS26 (RY28020). I think it was a zama replacement, don't recall, but it had the plastic caps on the adjustment screws. I just used a blue (16-14) butt connector and a #1 phillips screwdriver (I think). I forced the screwdriver in one end, removed & forced it into the other end to stick it there. That made the butt connector fit over the top of the cap & turned the screws fine. just needed a little adjustment to run OK in the 100* (110* index) heat today. I'll probably end up adjusting it again when it cools down some.

Thanks for the video ;)

High is always closest to air filter low closest to engine

Get yourself a cheap wireless inductive tachometer online. The equipment manual will tell you the idle rpm and the max rpm specified for the engine. You are basically right about the slow screw adjustment. Remember too lean is too mean! However, don't adjust your high speed screw higher than the max RPM in the manual. Otherwise it will run like a striped ape for a while until it burns itself up.

The best way to adjust the L screw is to do while idling like he said and you turn it clockwise until the engine is idling the fastest and turn it a little more until you hear the engine start to die then turn it back counterclockwise till the engine idles the fastest then turn it counterclockwise another 1/4 turn.

If 2 stroke is diff to start or sputters and won't start - - - turn screw closest to carb body out 1/3rd....when starts and revs adjust that screw in till runs without bogging.  For more power - -  adjust the outside screw in very slightly till at max revs and back off just a tiny bit.
Gotta start making my own vids, these are painful and silly to watch.
If you need the special carb tool, split a bic pen barrel at ball point end after remove the ink stem.  Fits great and costs pennies.

just turn both { jets } aka screws in completely and then back them out 1.25, that is the factory setting on all air-fuel mixtures

if you run your 2 stroke carb to lean. It will scorch the exhaust valve, cylinder wall and rings. It will run really good and fast but gets super hot. Not enough fuel/oil to lube and cool the cylinder.
