Ipswich Greyhound Race Rigging

Ipswich Greyhound Racing Club committee members Merv Page, Arnold Dull, Rob Whittington, and Sam Brady, along with IGRC employee Noel Weber, conspire to move the 431 metre start boxes in a race rigging plot. But when it begins to surface that the boxes were moved the blame is pinned on deceased trainer Tom Paterson.

Tom's wife Larraine defends his name and gets bullied out of her position of Vice President of the club. Larraine takes the matter to the Greyhound Racing Authority (now Racing Queensland) but instead of investigate a federal offence, they refuse to look at Larraine's evidence and sit on their hands instead.

This story exemplifies the classic bullying and intimidation tactics corrupted enterprise within the Greyhound Racing Industry will use to protect their criminal profiteering.

Starting boxes are placed on the outside of tracks and on bends to cause interference. Greyhound lures are driven pass the boxes at different speeds to give some dogs the advantage. Lures are driven at different speeds through the races the faster it goes will open the field the slower will cause the field to bunch up. Lures that are driven around the bends too fast will cause some dogs to track wide.

Similar to the trap 6 at Sunderland scandal heard in the UK where the outside was kept faster by the tractor and heavy rain and the first 8 races were from the 6 box. Some massive bets were refused payment by the bookies.

Different tracks inside or outside box’s might have a slight advantage but with central grading at HQ have can you rig a race 100% but most 400 m races with a fast dog out of the outside boxes have a very good chance of crossing the field and winning

If you're going to cheat make sure you don't get caught it's like not trying with a dog you don't feed a dog before the race but you can give a dog a bucket of water a couple of hours before the race and the dog will cramp up but you can also hurt the dog but cheating by the stadium that's a big no no and the track should be closed down for good
