How to become a Project Manager (PM) - Part 01 - project management career
Показать описание
How to become a project manager? In this video I share my tips on how you can become a PM if you have less or zero experience. If you have no previous experience, then I would recommend you to start as Project Lead or Jr. Project manager where you have an option to shadow a full time Project Manager. This will give you good exposure and learning to take on as a full time PM in the near future. Also I would strongly recommend reading PMI's PMBOK, this will help gain lot of knowledge on all project management areas as well as help you get your PMP certification.
Earning a PMP or CSM certification can help prospective project managers demonstrate their expertise and stand out from other applicants when looking for a job. The Project Management Institute offers the Project Management Professional and Certified Associate in Project Management certifications CAPM if you are intimidated to take PMP.
For PMP Exam, applicants should complete a 200-question examination. In addition, the Project Management Institute has prerequisites of 7,500 hours of practical experience and 35 hours of project management education for those with an associate’s degree or less, or 4,500 hours of experience leading projects and 35 hours of project management education for applicants with a bachelor’s degree or higher. To maintain the certification, people must complete professional development units every three years.
Similarly of you have to earn a CSM (Certified Scrum Master) certification you will have to join Scrum Alliance and pick a 2 or 3 day onsite training. After the training there will be an online exam with 30 questions and you will be able to pass that to earn your CSM certification.
