I bought a Rolex Submariner No Date 14060m off eBay with Box and Papers. I sold it 18 months later because it was boring, and the Tudor Black Bay 58 is a better watch.

"Why I sold my Rolex Submariner" (whilst wearing a Rolex Submariner)

Not to forget that the Kermit is already a submariner. "You didn't need a submariner" is that you didn't need two...

How are the BB58 and SMP not going to be good looking in the far future? People love vintage Tudor Snowflakes, and this Seamaster design has been in Omega's catalogue for twenty years now with no sign that it's popularity has gone down.

There are two watches I will never sell; my Sub and my Speedmaster Pro. There simply are no substitutes for these two. That Tudor is really nice, I'll admit. And I'm a Tudor guy too....love my Tiger Chrono, which used to be affordable. Nothing is affordable anymore unfortunately.

I think the Tudor will most definitely still look good in time.

No date sub ain’t worried, it KNOWs you’ll be back — they always come back.

Bravo for telling the world that Tudor isn’t just a baby Rolex anymore. They have their own thing and they’re kicking a**.

I have owned many watches, high dollar and low dollar, I have two Rolex currently, nothing and I mean nothing compares to my Black Bay 58 in terms of fit, finish, style and every day design and comfort. I am very happy it was highlighted in this video. The 58 is the best watch I have ever had and I have had many watches in 40 years of collecting.

I get this way with a lot of things. Including cars. You want want want, and then you get it. And the feeling is great. Then, after a while, you feel like, ok, it's just a watch, just a car, it was fun, been there done that. It's like, "i accomplished it". Now what? It doesn't need to be owned forever, but the achievement, the chase is what was exhilarating. Then, for me, if I need money, I'd probably sell my 10k USD watch, and keep all my others. Can still enjoy the rotation and other great looking pieces. Once you've done that, you feel like, "I did it once, and I can do it again if I want to". The hunger has been sated.

The hunt is always more satisfying than the kill

I definitely like the hunt more than the watch as well

Nailed it with this one. In 2019 I had fully come to terms with spending nearly 7 grand on a 14060m, cash saved and all - before I tried the BB58. I looked for every possible reason that I should buy the Rolex, tried to convince myself for weeks, but once I'd worn the BB58 I literally couldn't bring myself to do it. I've had the BB58 on my wrist every day since with not a single regret 2 years later, I genuinely can't see me ever parting with it :)

I've wanted to be a "one watch guy" from the very beginning, but that's kind of the problem with our modern world. Nothing ever lives up to the hype, and we're constantly inundated with new shit that makes us question the value of our old shit. I am slowly starting to realize that the hunt for a new watch is infinitely more satisfying than any watch purchase I can ever make, and to be honest, I've been wearing my Casion F-91 more than anything else lately, and am considering selling off the rest. What's the point?

Thanks for that video! Couldn't agree more! Around 10 years ago, you could buy the Rolex Sport Watches with appropriate discount and that was okay. Nobody wanted to spend more than about 5 to 5.5k Euros for a regular Sub or even a GMT or DJ.
But was going on today is insane! The explosion of prices on the grey market are a result of stupid money in our young society and the hype on "social" channels.
I don't want to be part of this anymore, because this doesn't have to do anything with my love to watches and my enthusiasm with that kind of hobby.
Therefore, I fully understand your point in the video!

As always Adrian you're spot love a lot of the Rolex range.... But I can't justify either the price on the used market (which is frankly fcking ridiculous for a mass produced machine finished watch) or the wait list and stupid games to try and get one! There are so many better watches out there

I often think the only reason I want a Rolex is because I can't walk into a store and look at one. If I could pop in to my AD every couple of months and try on a Daytona or GMT I don't think I'd have such a strong desire to own one.

I had the exact opposite experience: I love my 14060m more than I imagined I would. It's become my favorite watch!

As a longtime Seiko owner (still) I lusted after a Spring Drive Grand Seiko. I sold some limited edition pieces to finally get a SBGA083 and when I finally got it, I still wore my Tudor Black Bay 79220R far more often and the GS just sat in the box looking pretty. It never really did much for me and I ended up selling it.

I have a GMT II that I purchased in 1996. Back then I paid around $4.000 for it. Now it sells for over $10.000 and quite honestly it doesn't worth it. But, the biggest concern at this stage is that this kind of watch is now very often stolen through violent robberies and I really do not enjoy this feeling of fear when I wear it.
So, overall I will not sell it because I don't need to and it's still a good memory, but I wear it not so frequently. Clearly, not so well known brands are better for me at this stage
