Boy this brings back memories. The show was so popular when I was a kid, that my cousin and I spent a couple of afternoons playing Gadget and Chief Quimby, complete with mock explosions.

Fun fact: Inspector Gadget was voiced by Don Adams, who played Maxwell Smart on the series Get Smart. Not only that, but during Season 2, Jack Hanrahan, one of the original writers of Get Smart, joined the writing staff of Inspector Gadget.

I watched Inspector Gadget reruns on Nickelodeon in the late 80s to early 90's and again later in the 90's to the start of the 2000's. The Nickelodeon weekday & weekday reruns were how I first saw this show as a kid (born October 1986).

I like the original Inspector Gadget more so than the reboot one. The reboot doesn’t even have the catchy theme song that every Inspector Gadget likes.

In the early 2000’s (2000) I watched this on VHS as part of Inspector Gadget: Gadget’s Greatest Gadgets to coincide with Disney‘s live action theatrical movie. There were three episodes. One was “The Capeman Cometh” where Capeman made his debut, the other was “Prince of the Gypsies”, where Dr. Claw stole Romanovia’s Royal Coat of Arms, and the last one was “Gadget’s Gadgets” where Inspector Gadget and Capeman are taken to a fake clinic run by. Dr. Claw, as well as some stock footage from Inspector Gadget‘s Field Trip for the present-day segments. that same year, when I was living in Texas, I saw two Inspector Gadget VHS tapes The Capeman Cometh and Gadget in Minimadness at Wal-Mart.

1:37 - Maurice LaMarche voiced Chief Quimby. He would occasionally fill in for & dubbed over Don Adams’ lines as Inspector Gadget during this season 2 (1985-86).

Season 2 actually aired from September 30 to November 13, 1985, with the 21 episodes airing on Mondays, Tuesdays and Wednesdays over 7 weeks, and repeats of Season 1 airing on Thursdays and Fridays.
