Well, since it has been a theme of been a whiles...

First out - IF you happen to have claustrophobia THIS VIDEO IS NOT FOR YOU. For you, it will be a thanks for posting - but no thanks. I just ask you give it a Like because I warned you. I will admit - there was a portion of this cave where I felt claustrophobic. It is part of the reason why it has taken so long for the video to be finished because of that section. Yes, I could have not included it, but wanted viewers to have a full appreciate of the effort.

Second - This location IS ON PRIVATE PROPERTY. We had permission from the Land Owners to be there for this Scout Outing. Waivers must be signed & provided to their attorney.

Third - Before going spelunking, i.e. cave exploring, BE SURE ALL INDIVIDUALS GOING UNDERSTAND THE DANGERS & TAKE PERCAUTIONS. The Scouts were thoroughly instructed of what to expect, and what to bring.

All that being said, enjoy the video. Oh, and bats. There are bats.

What an awesome adventure you both gave these youngsters. Memories that will last a lifetime! Loved the “cascading sheet of chocolate” area. I also heard one of your scouts say “leave no trace”…..that’s great teaching brother!

My scout unit (Troop 1) used to camp here every year back in the 90s. Glad that Scouts are still visiting that spot and the owners still let it happen. It wasn't until I saw your face that I realized who was making the videos (I was Camp Commissioner at RCM 10 years ago)! Hope you're doing well!

I was one of those scouts in the mid 90s to go through here, I was hoping scouts still got to explore it. There was a rumor that Sweet Potato had a branch that went under the river, I always thought that was a little far fetched, but inspired numerous daydreams when i was a kid. Our family had a map, somewhere, but i have not seen it in quite a few years.

In 1973 and 1974 friends and I from Paducah Community College mapped the cave. I had the map for years but it got lost during many moves. We never finished the mapping project. We all left to go to different colleges. The areas we mapped made the cave the 99th longest in Ky. It is sad to see the addition of all the graffiti on the walls. We spent a lot of time in that cave.

In the cave there is a bolt in the rock with a super thick rope, that just snaps off. It is yo dark to see hoe far it goes, a buddy dropped his light in it and we never saw it again

Aye carumba. I think I'll stick to Meramec Caverns. Lol. That was definitely some dizzying footage in some of the tighter spots. I've been in at least 4 caves that I can remember. I've definitely never slept in one. The one at Camp Beaumont / Camp May in Missouri was probably the tightest one, while the one in Round Spring (or Blue Spring...can't remember) park in Missouri was the most primitive one with plenty of bats to walk under. I haven't had to squeeze for my life though...thankfully.
