Hi guys, I have had a lot of people ask me questions about my Carvin HH2 guitar. I thought it would be helpful to do a brief demo of the different clean and dirty sounds this guitar has to offer.

Very nice, this. Thanks for being so clear and not forcing a hyperactive stream of jokes like most people. Your playing is also great! Holdsworth-y enough to do the demo justice, but plenty of your own sound.

I'm thinking of ordering one now for the black friday sale, and that video was very useful and well thought out, thank you so much

Great demo. Thanks for that. I've been curious about Holdsworth pickups for a long time.

Thanks Ian; very good demo.  I love the HH2(X).  The Honeyburst finish is just beautiful.

Very good demo Ian. I bought a Holdsworth HF2S (fatboy). The Holdsworth Headless models came out about 2 months after I received delivery of my Carvin. I love ergonomic and headless designs in general... if only I had known! But I am happy with my HF2S. Incredible tones w/ the hollow body and resonator tone bars. And now I have an excuse to buy another Carvin! I like the HH2 as well w/ the hardtail, like yours. Thanks for taking the time to put up this demo. Great job.

All the clean positions sound very similar. No any significant changes. It s for pedal jumpers. Or I would carve the top for single coils.

Thank you for your numerous videos of the HH2, they are very helpful and your playing is great. I do have one question; How do you like Carvin Jumbo SS frets? Is a significantly lighter touch required or do you have no problem switching between the HH2 and your other guitars?

How about a break down of the run at the end and the thought behind it? Also a review of that pedal? Thanks for your time

I bought a second hand HH1. Lovely to play. Not sure what kind of bridge it has (my knowledge is very sketchy to non existent. ) it has a lock to fix the bridge but the unfixed is very stiff and needs a lot of pressure on the whammy. I think it needs setting up properly to be honest.

Nice review.  I have the HH2 in jet black.  These are the perfect guitars.

I much enjoy your video's Ian!
I intend to buy a HH2x, but as I live in Belgium I'm not able to try one out...So if I may, I have a few questions for you:
1) what is the radious on this guitar?
2) fretsize ?
3) string brand & gauge?
4) I'm used to play on small C-shape, and I'm not sure about the thick D-shape ...?
5) do you know if tremolo issues (detuning, cracks, handle loose...)are solved by Carvin? (Read a lot about this on internet, but no recent comment though)
Thanks for your time and lots of success!
Christian

Great Sound!!! What is the setting of rockett? You only used as a drive or as drive + boost
It's possible to know the precise adjustment?

Do you think coil splitting would be cool on the bridge?

Again, though, without knowing your amp or amp sim/model setup, we know nothing about the sound of the guitar other than relative pickup difference.

Do you need special strings, like double ball ends, for this guitar? Or can you use your favorite normal set of strings? This guitar seems like a perfect alternative to a Strandberg Boden.

Hi Ian, I see you also, as me, own a Sadosky Jim Hall. Even when I guess the Sadowsky and the HH2 are completely different animals, I wondering how do they compare. I am interested on the feeling of the neck, and the clean sounds on the HH2. and how they compare to the Sadowsky. I love my Jim Hall to death but need something that travel easy  and can take to the plane cabins, etc. I am intrigued by the HH2 cleans, they seem to be very clear and even and suited for modern jazz. Also can the HH2 take heavy strings, say .11'' sets?  Many thanks.
