ABOUT ME:

In 2018, I decided I wanted to change my life and relocate to Italy. I didn't know anyone there, I didn't speak the language and I had only visited the country twice before. Just eight months after I had made this decision, I packed up my suitcases and moved solo from London to Italy, embarking on my very first Expat experience. On paper it sounds completely bonkers but in reality it was the making of me.

On this channel I serve up a slice of real Italian life through weekly vlogs and videos. I also share tips on how to navigate life as an Expat in Italy, coping strategies, lessons learnt and my unique insight into life as a Brit in Italy.

Well done again - cento percento !
When I returned to Italy after 30 years, 30 seconds after stepping off the train i ran into friends . Within hours there was a impromptu welcome back party ; ultimately after two extra weeks I had decided to return permanently again in a few months . It was the end of 2019 . 2 years later it is becoming a possibility , maybe, kinda sorta, depending on this crazy world .

All things you mentioned are true. Once you are in this family connection type, you may feel comfortable but sometimes...'suffocating'! Ahah...I can imagine you, on Sunday, set down together with your boyfriend family members included grandfather, grandmother, uncles, cousins and friends having a lunch from 13.00 til....16.00 or more! ahaha... terrible! ahahah...

When I move to Italy, hopefully next year or the year after, I'm planning on renting Air BnB's one month at a time in different cities. I think all over Europe really, depending on the time of the year and weather. One problem I'm not yet sure how to solve, even after receiving dual citizenship (USA, Italy), will be residency to open a European bank account. I think, like you say, this is where making friendships will solve a lot of problems.

Yeah, we should maybe turn our country's name into Famitaly.
