This movie. this scene. is my reason for my love of Motorcycles and why I love to ride. Tron Legacy. What an underrated movie.

I got this exact bike and at midnight I’ll listen to this and rip around on the streets in darkness. This scene alone means so much more to me than just a movie opener. It brought so many feelings to me as a child and those feelings led me to do so much more. Amazing

The concept of this movie is “Legacy”. He is his father’s greatest legacy. But there’s another thing. In the opening scene his father, Kevin, can be seen riding the Ducati 750SS (the bike can be seen later at Sam’s place when Alan visits him). The thing is, Sam’s bike in this scene is the Ducati Sport1000 Monoposto (Sport Classic being the name of the range), and its design and designer were directly inspired by the 750 SS, Kevin’s old motorcycle. Even the motorcycles in this movie fit the theme “Legacy”. They really paid that much attention to details.

This soundtrack is criminally underrated. I can't believe it got snubbed. Only time I've ever went right to the music store right after the movie and bought a soundtrack.

That transition between push bike and motor bike, linked together by his grandma's cry to come much - didn't expect to feel a lump in my throat when I first saw that. Subtleties in film can go a long way.

The fact that you hear his grandmother say "Sam, come back" in an echoing voice and after the transition to motorcycle is completely moving.

You feel the character in this one simple scene. You relate to him. As a kid I would ride my bike to clear my head.

This movie is 100% what made me fall in love with motorcycles and eventually become a rider. I had the opportunity down the road to actually pick up a yellow Ducati Sport1000 from a friend. I love the movie so much that even before discussing a price, I agreed to buy it.

After buying it my spouse also fell in love with the bike. So much that oftentimes there would be a fight for the keys even though we had over a half dozen really great bikes in our garage already.

A few months ago I bought another Ducati Sport1000, this time a black one identical to the movie bike. It was my exact dream bike down to the color and now I have it in my garage and I always think of that movie.

0:14 probably the most epic transition of all time. I love the silence in the tunnel. How you only have the beautiful music combined with gret camera work.This is where I started falling in love with the film already.

I came back to this scene because ever since I was a little kid I’ve wanted to ride motorcycles. Shortly after my 10th birthday my dad and I went to go see this movie in the theaters and I have watched it at least once a year every year since then and every year my love for motorcycles grows when I see it. Now at 20 years old, and a couple months away from my first big motorcycle trip with my dad, I can’t decide wether to replace my old helmet with a Matte black helmet or a glossy black helmet so now im here. THIS MOVIE IS THE MOST UNDERRATED MOVIE EVER, this movie is one the MAIN reasons I love bikes. Everything in this movie is AWESOME. So glad Tron 3 is on the way.
