My mom and dad had a similar moment like this irl. Shortly after I was born, my dad got into an accident on his base during training. Long story short, he took the brunt of an explosion. His entire body was burnt, his hair was all singed, his cap he was wearing had partially melted into his scalp, he was barely recognizable as it was. Then he was practically wrapped head to toe in bandages. My mother showed up at the hospital and was waiting in the hallway to be taken to him. Apparently it was a busy day and a small hospital so he wasn’t placed in a room, so they were trying to find his bed. She had been told he was burnt but didn’t know to what extent. She had been sitting next to this man on a bed the entire time she had been waiting, over half an hour. She wasn’t looking at him, trying to be respectful, because he was wrapped head to toe in gauze, but she was having a semi one-sided conversation with the man about her husband and what he did and how worried she was. The man was just grunting, couldn’t really make out any words. Eventually she glances over at him and sees just how covered up he is. Then, she glances down at his hand which he had been gesturing towards her with, like he was reaching to grab hers. She finally saw it: my father’s golden wedding band, almost melted into his skin but she recognized it immediately. She started sobbing and kissed his bandaged head, and then bossed her way into getting my dad into a room (as moms do.)

Her love was an unstoppable force, and his is immovable and unwavering.

i hate that he died especially that he was getting less and less screen time but that was a good script ngl. loved how they did it.

As soon as Meredith said, "double O.." I gasped. Meanwhile, over at my sister's house, she was yelling, 'It's George!"

Whats crazy is I knew he was going to die, and I knew his face was messed up and this still completely caught me off guard, my heart dropped when I heard 007

What i never understood is why there was such doubt about whether he was a donor or not. Not only was he a doctor, he was kind and gave his life for someone else. It was a no-brainer.

The actor who plays George wanted more screen time but they refused to give it to him and in fact gave him less and less as the show went on so he got a better deal, decided to leave the show and they had no problem letting him go

i feel like the writers shouldn't of killed George. They should of let him join the army so his character would of had a chance to make a return one day.

So my daughter and I are watching greys for the first time, we knew George died, we knew he gets messed up so no one recognises him but we thought it happens in s6 and that it happens in Iraq or something!
So there’s us sat there last ep of season 5 not picking up what was happening until about half way though I sit up and shout “WE HAVENT SEEN GEORGE SINCE THE BEGINNING OF THE EPISODE!!”
My daughter and I just look in horror at each other as we realise THIS is the episode and THAT is George who threw himself in front of the bus to save that girls life 😭

I don’t remember exactly where I was for many things lol. But I for some reason so distinctly remember the exact moment in time when I watched this episode lol. It was the day after my prom and I woke up, had eggs sunny side up, and coffee with cream and a lot of sugar lol. I then went back to take a nap in my mom’s room, but decided to watch this episode before….. and the scream I yelled out lolll. The bomb episode will forever be the greatest but my god, this SCENE….. haunting lol. Shonda is sick and twisted lol
