In 2017, I took a trip to NYC and shot a roll of film. In 2022, I took a trip to NYC and only used my iPhone 13 and Sony a6600. In this video I take a look at all of the photos and try to decide if I prefer shooting 35mm film or if I prefer digital photography.

I would love to know your thoughts on these images! Tell me what you think in the comments!

I prefer Film, since i do enjoy it much more, as a haptics medium. Also, with digital...one does always have that thought perhaps "i can fix that in post..." or "i delete that later...." with Film, you do think way much more - before hitting the shutter, because every shot counts, every frame, -exposure does cost...into the End. Film is way much more emotional - not just a RAW file orJPEG, which is being seen for the most part only onto a Monitor, and floating around on your harddrive....

Awesome tryout. I really love shooting film much more. Its because of the process I think. And the fact that I don´t own a digital camera. But your digital photos are really good. And your analog photos are beautiful as well. I think it´s a tie for me. Thank you for sharing I really love the vibe.

Your photographs were all very good and taken well. Really liked seeing them and brought back good memories of living there. Your photos have a nice color to them for NYC, kind of a soft, dream-like tint that helps evoke memories. I liked the sharpness that some of your digital photos had but they were all cool to see. Keep up the good work. Have a Merry Christmas and Happy Holidays, Steele!

I like them all apart from the phone. Can’t explain it but the perspective just feels off. Like the way the top of the trees and building bend inward at the top of the pic.
